So far, November's been a month full of interesting updates. Keep reading to find out more about what's been changing on Instagram in November 2025.

Will Reposting your Instagram Content Affect your Reach?
Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri Recently announced that despite common misconception, reposting your old content on Instagram will not affect your reach or engagement.
Mosseri did however mention that if you do however re-upload posts too often, your audience will be less likely to engage as it's something they've already seen.
Here are some general rules of thumb for re-publishing your own content:
Try to wait at least 30 days since originally posting to post again (for best results, wait at least 60)
Do not repost anything that is no longer relevant (old news, no longer relevant information, old trends, sporting results from months ago etc.)
For best results: repost something that already did well the first time around.
Try to make it more interesting and slightly different by changing the caption and audio you choose to pair with it.

Instagram Launches a New App Layout
Probably the most noticeable recent change this month is Instagram’s new look. Instagram recently launched their brand new app interface, and it’s causing some rumble. This new UI sees Reels and DMs moved into the second and third tab spots along the bottom navigation control, and enables you to swipe between them, simplifying access to what Meta says are the most-used elements of the app.

To publish a post now, you'll have to tap on the + symbol in the top left corner of the app when viewing your home feed.

Whilst this started off as a choice to change the app to this style, it has now been implemented automatically on most accounts.
Multi-Images in DMs
FINALLY , something we’ve actually all been asking (and waiting) for. You can now send multiple images in a single DM thread! 🙌
This new feature is ideal for creators, social media managers, and brands working on collabs who have to constantly exchange visual feedback. It’s also just great for those of us who need to spam multiple images at once to our group chats. It keeps everything in one conversation instead of spamming someone’s inbox 10 images deep!
New Tools to Change your Algorithm
Another exciting update is the introduction and expansion of the 'your algorithm' interface. This new update allows users to change and apart their algorithm to suit their content needs. Currently, the way your algorithm works is it will understand data points about you based on what you have interacted with on the app in the past. It will look at two things:
What and who you interact with the most
What and who you've interacted with most recently
It will then take those signals, and make smart assumptions about what you want to see more of. This works in theory, but sometimes it gets it wrong, and often it over-assumes your interest in a particular topic area (I for one liked a few good recipe posts recently, and was quickly bombarded with recipes upon recipes all over my main feed and explore page).
This new feature allows you to essentially tell the algorithm exactly what you do and don't want to see more of. It will show you the information it's already gathered about you and what it thinks you want to see, and you can adapt and change it at your will.
What does this mean for creators? It means having an obvious and strong niche is more important than ever. I expand on this and how you can make sure you can use this new algorithm update to your advantage in the November edition of my Trend, Strategy and Update Report inside my Monthly Membership The Content Academy.
